The Breath of History: How Gases Connect Us to Our Planet and Past

  • 1100 Jefferson Drive Southwest Washington, DC, 20001 United States

For author Sam Kean, every inhale and exhale we take directly connects us to our planet's atmosphere and to humanity's past itself. Drawing on his most recent book, Ceasar's Last Breath: Decoding the Secrets of the Air Around Us (Little, Brown and Company), Kean takes a closer look at the gases we breathe as he tells the story of their origins, their significance, and their context in history.

Sam Kean will sign copies of his book after the lecture.

Tickets are $20 for Smithsonian members and $30 for non-members and can be purchased here.
